When you purchase a Clean up Your Act Kit you will also provide one day of support to a subsistence farmer by giving them vegetable seeds.
One of the biggest barriers to girls attending school in Cambodia is their immediate need for food. When a family is hungry, the search for food becomes their main priority and children spend their days either working or searching the forest for food. Together we can make an impact by supplying seeds so a family can grow their own vegetable gardens. This will supply a family with enough food for their home, and sometimes extra to sell at local markets for profit.
The Project is managed by : Free To Shine
Free to shine provides every girl on the program with 10 different types of seeds. Without this, many families on the programme would have suffered from malnutrition with little to eat besides rice and salt. By growing their own vegetables, families are able to have more nutrition in their diet and become healthier. Any excess that they grow can be sold at the local market to supplement their income. Free to shine are currently working in 43 villages who are most at risk of being targeted by sex traffickers.
