By purchasing this packet of Rock Solids, you will quench the thirst of people living in Tigray by giving them clean water that is absent of water-borne diseases for one day.
The provision of clean and hygienic water will reduce a woman's average daily water collection time; effectively reduces the children mortality rate from water-borne diseases, and allows girls to receive a proper education instead of spending their time collecting water.
The Project is managed by WellWishers Trust Organisation.
About: WellWishers is a support organisation which funds the construction of Hand-Dug Water Wells in the northern Ethiopian province of Tigray. The programme includes training & education in Health & Sanitation matters as well as Family Planning. Without a well, women spend an average of 3 hours every day collecting about 20 litres (for her whole family) of polluted water from sources often shared with defecating livestock. Up to 20% of children under the age of 5 die from water-borne diseases.
