COFFS HARBOUR ROAD TRIP, BOUT AND TECH TALK

About a week ago we packed up Better Bearings and headed down the coast to Coffs Harbour to have a bout stall at their first game of the season! What an amazing double header, with the CCD Daughters of Mayhem vs VDL Rogue Scholars from Canberra playing some amazing derby  and then the guys ripped up the track with CCD Bruise Brothers vs Capital Carnage! 

We love heading around to more regional games because you see things like this, In the crowd were heaps and heaps of kids! They were all cheering and totally into the game. Narsty and I thought they might be a heap of Junior derby kids but as it turns out one of the Coffs Girls playing was a local primary school teacher and her whole class had turned up to the game to cheer her on! It was so very cool, they had signs made up and at half time the skater who clearly must be the best teacher ever thanked every single one of them for coming and gave out lollies! 

The guys bout was hard core! At this point Narsty and I totally forgot that we were manning a bout stall and ended up watching the whole game! With just a few points between the teams most of the time every jam was full on!

On the Sunday after the game we headed to Coffs training venue and facilitated a full tech talk with the members! There were lots of laughs, tweaking of set ups and light bulb moments!
