ROAD TRIP TO ORANGE

When I told Narsty that I thought it’s was a good Idea to road trip to Orange NSW, leaving as soon as we both finished work, driving in my uniform and returning late the night before we had to go back to work, understandably she wasn’t totally sold on the idea. But when I told her that I had made the best ever 80s and 90s mixtape she was in!

We packed up Better Bearings operation loaded it all into XL 40 from UBRDs car and headed south to Derby Fest Home Grown in Orange NSW to spread some skate tech knowledge and show our big derby love to regional leagues. We are so glad we did this trip!

We LOVE meeting derby people all over the country and having a chat about skates, bearings, gear,  training, getting venues etc. We met some amazing new skaters and some very enthusiastic juniors who were ripping up the classes!

Over the two days Narsty and I ran 2 “be your own skate tech” classes, they were well attended and we picked up some really serious safety issues with some of the skates we saw. Checking your Bearings and skates is really important! If something is cracked and you keep skating on it, eventually you will either be up for a new part or have it fail in a game or in practice and hurt yourself.
